Welcome to Term 5. We hope you had a good Easter break.
This term, we will be enjoying the very exciting topic of Ancient Egypt. Sadly, we are not able to visit the pyramids, but we are looking forward to welcoming a local company, Hands On History, into school to do a variety of workshops with the children. This will take place on Wednesday 25th April.
In Maths, we start with a unit about fractions and will then work on the vital life-skill of telling the time and solving time problems. Please give your children plenty of opportunities to practise telling the time on analogue and digital clocks, and to think about timings of their day.
In English, some of the work links to our topic, as we will produce information pages about The Egyptians. We will also focus on persuasive writing and aspects of storytelling.
Our computing focus is word-processing skills.
With the sun having finally appeared, can we please ask that all children come to school each day with a named water bottle and hat.
The Year 3 team.
