Friends Of Grovelands (FrOG)

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves. We are the schools PTA (Parents and Teachers Association) - a charity, fund raising organisation. Here at Grovelands we call ourselves the FrOG Committee (Friends of Grovelands). We are a group of Mums, Dads and Grandparents who, through various fun events, aim to raise money to provide ‘extras’ for the school that enhance our childrens' school experiences.

Can You Help?

Tombola prizes – we always need unwanted gifts and prizes. If you have anything you could donate please leave items at School office. Thank you.
Summer Fete – Any new ideas for stalls are always welcome. We are always looking for raffle prizes or sponsorship for the event. Please ask friends, colleagues etc. if they would like to sponsor a stall and advertise their business at the same time.

How the Money is Spent

In the past FrOG have helped raise money for several different projects which range from buildings, such as the Computer room, to purchase of playground equipment and games for ‘wet play’. We have recently provided equipment for the new Music Room, including a digital piano. We’ve also sponsored special curriculum enhancement weeks, such as the Art and DT fortnights. All of the money raised benefits the children in one way or another. If you would like to see how much each event raises then this is the place to look as results will be posted here after each event.

The Committee

We have a strong committee but we are always looking for new members to bring fresh ideas and offer a helping hand when they can. How involved you get is up to you. We have meetings every couple of months which are informal. Some members are unable to attend any meetings, but are happy to make things at home, or help out at discos, or man a stall at the fete.
