Class Pages – Reception

Term 6 Overview

For the first four weeks our topic is going to be ‘Pirates’.  The children will be dressing up, acting out pirate stories, using our pirate boats to make mathematical word problems, making pirates, painting pirate boats, making their own pirate name and culminating in having a fun pirate day when they will be walking the plank, eating pirate food, making parrots and collecting treasure from different year groups!!

In the last two weeks of term 6 the children will be focusing on keeping themselves healthy.  This will include diet, exercise, staying clean, medicine and sun safety.

Our sports day is within these last two weeks on Monday 3rd July at 1:45pm.

The children will also continue going to year 1 to get use to the surroundings.

To round off a successful year, our last trip to the woods will include taking our teddy bears and having a picnic.

29/09/2016Workshop/ Phonics
Thank you to all the parents that came to the workshops the other week and for filling out an evaluation sheet. We will use these to make any improvements where possible. The children have begun learning their sounds this week and the phonics pack (that was shown at the workshop) has been sent home with your child already. Please check the black board in the Reception playground and the weekly newsletter to check which sounds and words we are learning.
